Who is the Man Behind the Curtain?
Born September 30th, 19?? in Savannah, GA to an Air Force officer and his wife. Great parents by the way. He grew up all over the world since his father was relocated about every two years. After graduating high school, he joined the Air Force (I wonder where he got that idea). Here's the cool thing though. He pretty much used the Armed Services for education and travel.
He started off in Basic Training, staying near the back of the pack. The Man then moved onto Cryptographic Maintenance (a group normally kept in the shadows). He was shipped off to Germany for a few years and worked in the basement of a communications building. Afterward, he came back to the States to work in another basement. From there he was selected to work in the basement of the White House (I'd say it was a step up, but to where?). He worked for Presidents Reagan, Bush, and Clinton. Unfortunately, he worked in rooms off to the side of the action, behind curtains, and inside vehicles moving in the motorcades. Not one for the public, The Man declined the offer to continue at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. He was reassigned to Tinker AFB in Oklahoma (he said it was like stepping in something stinky and soft) to the 3rd Combat Communications Squadron, where he worked inside a van hidden in the woods.
Finally, a career change was upon him. This may be a chance to leave the curtain behind. Alas, it was not to be. He was moved to Cheyenne Mountain Air Station, buried deep within the earth. After about 3 years, he came up for a promotion (which included a reassignment). He was promptly swept away to Thule Air Base in Greenland and stuck in a room 12 miles from the base.
The Man was beginning to see what fate had in store for him. After Thule, he was sent back to Cheyenne Mountain (his choice) to see his old stomping grounds. He was selected to be in the most out of the way place in the complex, the Space Vault. He will not say what went on there.
He finally retired from service and was accepted to a major corporation and now keeps track of things stored in closets.
